Julian - Pet of the Day December 6th, 2011

The pet of the day is Julian, AKA Mr. Kitty. Julian is available through the Animal Rescue Alliance of Preston County. Sweet Julian is special because he is FIV- positive. He is a beautiful three and a half yr old white and orange tabby cat. He has the markings of a Turkish Van, and has a medium length coat and is around thirteen pounds. He is litter trainer, neutered, and up to date on all shots.

Julian has to be an indoor cat to avoid spreading the FIV to unvaccinated cats. He is very people friendly, but he doesn’t much care for other cats so he would be best suited for a one cat family. He seems to ignore dogs for the most part until they invade his space. If there was a home that the dog would respect his space or ignore him that could work.

FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and makes cats more susceptible to infections. It is not possible to transmit the virus from cat to human, only cat to cat.
