Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts have both soared in the Hollywood spotlight. The acting gene seemingly runs in the family. It has been apparent in interviews and photos that this family was incredibly close. According to a Feb. 10 report from People, Julia Roberts' half-sister and Emma Roberts' aunt Nancy Motes died yesterday of an apparent overdose. This comes just days after actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York apartment.

The Roberts/Motes family is devastated by the news. They released a statement confirming both the passing and the apparent cause of death. There is no coroner report yet, but it is being ruled an accidental overdose right now. Nancy Motes was the daughter of Julia Roberts' mother. She was just 37-years-old at the time of her death.

The family is requesting privacy at this time while they deal with all the emotions that are tied into a death like this. It is presumed that both Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts will be in attendance for a funeral or memorial for Nancy Motes.
