It’s almost the end of July, but summer is far from over. This Saturday, July 30th, affords an opportunity for fun, food, music, but best of all a chance to help a family in need. After Julia Herbert was shot and killed by her estranged husband on April 8th, the oldest sibling, Jesse James, 19, decided to raise her sisters, ages four to ten, so they could all stay together.
The Julia Herbert Children Benefit will be held from 9am-9pm at Reynolds Park, 1063 Bulkhead Rd. in Green Cove Springs. The event will begin with an opening prayer, followed by a few words from Anne Dugger from the Justice Coalition. Lauren Elise, a Fleming Island teen with several country and gospel titles to her name, will then sing Amazing Grace. The CCSO Explorers will be parking cars and setting up a child identification booth. Friends have set up an account to help the family. The account is at Vystar Credit Union, #702869387.
