Breaking News: Orion Sports Management CEO Allan Tremblay told this writer that 3-time Women's Boxing World Champion Ana "The Hurricane" Julaton's next fight will be on September 30th in Mexico, and will be televised and made available for everyone watch through the GMA Network live (October 1st in Manila).

Details for the fight are still being finalized (venue, weight class, opponent), but according to my sources within Team Julaton, this next fight is part of their continuing global push for boxing fans worldwide to witness the talents of the Female Fighting Pride of the Philippines.

October will surely turn into "Hurricane Season" in Mexico, as Julaton is set to face one of the country's top female fighters in their own backyard, in hopes to continue the tradition of countryman Manny Pacquiao against Mexican opponents. The fight will definitely be an early appetizer for the much-anticipated Pacquiao-Marquez trilogy in November, and a chance for Julaton's fans to watch her once again on the Kapuso Network.

A deal between Orion Sports CEO Allan Tremblay (Julaton's Promoter) and GMA Network CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon has been forged to showcase Ana Julaton's ring exploits through the GMA Network beginning with an airing of the replay of Julaton's most recent fight against Angel Gladney in Miami on June 24. The fight has yet to be aired in the Philippines, and will be a great opportunity for Filipino boxing fans to witness Julaton's gutsy performance, in what turned out to be a bloody contest.

Julaton's brilliant performance against the power-punching Gladney at the highest weight class she's ever competed in, showcased her coming of age as she continues to master the Freddie Roach system. Incidentally, Julaton's good friend Fil-Am NBA coach Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat, sat ringside for the event, and instantly became a boxing fan that night after being inspired by Julaton's performance. It was his first time attending a live boxing fight. "I'll definitely be in the next one," said Spoelstra, who guided the superstar trio of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade to last season's NBA Finals.

"We are excited about Ana Julaton's next fight which will be airing on GMANetwork in the Philippines, GMA News TV and GMA Pinoy TV worldwide.

We have supported Ana's boxing career from the beginning as we have always believed that she has the qualities of a champion that would make her stand out in the very competitive world of women's boxing. Good luck to Ana from her Kapuso fans here in Manila and everywhere in the world!" said Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Chairman and CEO of GMA.

All parties involved are extremely excited to be working with each other again. In terms of Popularity ratings Ana Julaton in 2010 was rated the Number One Show watched by Filipino's and now with her September 30th fight being shown live in Manila I'm sure all Filipinos will tune in to watch the Female Fighting Pride of the Philippines.

"I've been in the sport for quite a while, and we've had world champions in different weight classes and those kinds of things, and every once in a while in your lifetime or your career in the business, someone actually kind of looks up to you in a little different way, and she's kind of that person for me. She's a genuine article. She's a tireless worker, driving so hard to get ahead. It's just such a great story, and she's such a wonderful person," said Tremblay, who has big things in store for Julaton's future in the sport of boxing.

Julaton is definitely looking sharp based on the sparring session I recently watched, and has been improving every camp since reuniting with her Hall of Fame boxing trainer Freddie Roach, beginning with their WBO World Championship victory over WBC Silver belt Champion Maria Villalobos back in June of 2010 in Canada.

Incidentally, that fight was shown on replay by GMA 7 three weeks after in the Philippines, and garnered top ratings, beating out the live presentation of ABS-CBN's boxing special Sandugo: Banal vs Korea, further proving Julaton's still growing popularity among her countrymen.
