The story of Judge Judy sued over some expensive dishes is making top news headlines today, as Fox News reported this Tuesday, March 12, that Judge Judy is being charged for buying some rare china from a producer in the middle of a divorce as part of a “fraudulent scheme.”
Under the headline, “Judge Judy sued over pricey dishes”, sources report that the lawsuit at hand stems from producer Randy Douthit selling Judge Judy (who full name is Judith Sheindlin) some expensive china following his breakup from estranged wife Patricia Jones.
The lawsuit argues that the dishes bought by Judge Judy were worth well over $500,000, but that the TV judge only bought the china for $50,000. It also claims that both Randy Douthit and Judith Sheindlin took part in this “fraudulent plan” to stop Jones from being able to get the dishes throughout the divorce case.
The estranged wife is now aiming to get the dishes, or at least be paid their full value. However, the Judge Judy sued headline is not one the TV judge knows of regarding the lawsuit or believes has any merit.
"I have not seen any complaint by the former Mrs. Douthit; however, I don't owe this lady a cent,” she said. “And if this 50-year-old woman would spend her time more productively at trying to find a job, instead of abusing the judicial system with frivolous lawsuits, we would all be a lot better off."
For many fellow fans of Judge Judy, however, this popular TV judge is not one woman to take lightly over any lawsuit in the courtroom, on either side of the bench.
