Judge Judy sued: Producer's ex-wife wants $514K or return of china

Usually Judith Sheindlin is the one behind the bench, but now news is out that Judge Judy is being sued and this is one hefty charge. TMZ broke the news on March 12, and a lady named Patric Jones is pretty ticked off at the famous television judge.

The lowdown is that Randy Douthit, a producer working with Sheindlin, is going through an ugly divorce with Jones. It seems that Judge Judy is being sued over some flatware and china that Judy bought from Douthit, and Jones alleges that it was severely undervalued in the sale. Patric Jones claims that Judge Judy bought the china and silverware for $50,000, whereas it is actually valued at over $514,000.

Jones goes on to allege that her ex-husband Randy Douthit and Judge Judy conspired together on the china deal in an effort to get revenge against Jones. The lawsuit also alleges that Douthit reduced his profit participation agreement with the Judge Judy show in order to reduce what he would owe in the divorce settlement.

Patric Jones wants the $514,421.14 she says is the fair market value of the items, and she also wants punitive damages. Her lawyer says that there has been a court order against the ex-husband to return the items because California community property laws say he could not sell it without his ex-wife's permission. Judge Judy has been asked to return the items, and allegedly she has refused. For her part, Judith Sheindlin says that she hasn't seen the complaint and owes Jones nothing.

What do you think of the details regarding Judge Judy being sued? Should she hand over the china and silverware, or should she stand her ground?
