Judge Judy is being sued, E! Online reported Tuesday. The site also published the court documents in the case.
E!'s headline read, "Judge Judy Sued Over China That's Allegedly Worth More Than $500,000"
Judge Judy apparently got a good bargain on some used china and flatware. But a woman is suing the TV judge now. She says that she was effectively stolen from.
A Judge Judy producer, Randy Douthit, was going through a nasty divorce from Patric Jones. The estranged couple had some very expensive Christofle tableware.
Jones filed the lawsuit against Judge Judy, claiming that her soon-to-be ex Douthit entered in a fraudulent scheme to cheat hear out of china and flatware, which she values at $514,421.14.
Jones said Judy effectively stole the china from her for only $50,000, the price Judy paid for the china and flatware.
Jones seeks punitive damages and she wants the china and flatware back or she wants Judge Judy to fork over $514,421.14.
Judge Judy tells TMZ, "I have not seen any complaint by the former Mrs. Douthit, however, I don't owe this lady a cent. And if this 50-year-old woman would spend her time more productively at trying to find a job, instead of abusing the judicial system with frivolous lawsuits, we would all be a lot better off."
