Judge Judy is being sued over some pricey fine china that she got a great deal on. The problem now is that the original owner of the china is suing Judy for the actual value. TMZ reported March 12 that the lawsuit requests that Judy either pay up (a smooth half a million bucks) or return the china.
So what got Judge Judy in this pickle to begin with? Randy Douthit, a producer on the show "Judge Judy," is going through a divorce. He sold the Christofle tableware to Judy for $50,000, which is a steal because it's allegedly worth $514,421.14.
Judge Judy is being sued by Douthit's ex, Patric Jones. Jones believes that Douthit sold the fine china behind her back and she wants her fair share from it. Apparently Jones believes there is a whole conspiracy against her and that Judge Judy is on the whole thing. Judy feels that she's in the right and she owes Jones nothing...
"I have not seen any complaint by the former Mrs. Douthit, however, I don't owe this lady a cent. And if this 50-year-old woman would spend her time more productively at trying to find a job, instead of abusing the judicial system with frivolous lawsuits, we would all be a lot better off," Judge Judy said (via TMZ).
To sue Judge Judy one has to really have a case. Judge Judy is very smart and she knows the ins and outs of the law... she's a judge.
