Judge Judy elaborated on the fiasco she’s currently caught up in, involving expensive china she allegedly purchased from her executive producer Randy Douthit years ago. The costly dishes and flatware were recently in the news due to Randy’s estranged wife claiming Judge Judy was part and parcel to some sort of conspiracy designed to defraud her. Judith Sheindlin released a statement saying, “She and her attorney want a circus and I refuse to be a further participant in their drama”, according to TMZ today.
Patric Jones, the “bitter” ex-wife of Judge Judy’s producer, has been lodging accusations at the 70 year-old jurist in an attempt to gain a leg up on her former husband in their contentious divorce proceedings.
Judge Judy says Jones is “untruthful”, “dishonest” and “misleading” during portions of her testimony. “As Ms. Jones and her attorney assert, the items are community property, they are being packed and returned to Mr. Douthit [her producer] and she can proceed with her claim in divorce court”, Sheindlin said.
Judge Judy allegedly paid $50,000 for the items in question. She rakes in a reported $45 million a year. “Anyway, my husband and I eat out most of the time”, was what the sharp-tongued woman had to say in response to utilizing the dishes.
Judge Judy's producer gave TMZ a statement that says, “The dishes and silverware that Ms. Jones describes as community property are being sent to me. I am truly sorry that Judge Judy Sheindlin was brought into this domestic dispute. She relied on my statement to her that the court had authorized the sale”.
Although the divorce judge places the value of the disputed plates and silverware at just $125,000, Douthit said, “I agree with [my ex] that as community property she is entitled to half their value. She herself has valued them at more than $500,000. I do not want them and she is certainly welcome to have them as that is what she says she wants.
“When I get the cashier's check for $250,000, I will deliver them to her”, Randy said. Too bad this case couldn’t be called by Byrd!
