A judge accused of having an affair with an inmate has shocked many in Indiana. Judge Lisa Traylor-Wolff, who is also a lawyer, began a sexual affair with a man half her age. She was appointed as his attorney and things got cozier than they should have MSN reports Feb. 27.
Even after the inmate was charged with felony and sent to a state prison, he and the judge continued on with their affair. The judge is getting her own penalty of three disciplinary charges due to violating ethical codes. She faces the very real possibility of being banned from holding judicial office in Indiana.
Why would the 52-year-old judge be willing to risk her entire career for a sexual relationship with an inmate?
A number of bad decisions have been made on the part of those practicing law. There was an instance in which a divorce attorney in Minnesota billed a client for the times they had sex. More can be read about that here. The attorney actually coded the sexual encounters as "draft memos."
This judge definitely used bad judgement getting herself involved with an inmate. Clearly, there was no discrimination from right and wrong.
