In a most macabre report Juarez, Mexico resident Ulises Rodela, 39, was arrested and charged with animal cruelty on Wednesday after confessing to killing his neighbor's dogs and then barbecuing them.
Authorities were called to Rodela's residence in Ciudad Juarez after the neighbor and owner of the dogs confronted Rodela. A street fight ensued with Rodela claiming he had captured the dogs and turned them over to the local animal control. After checking that the dogs had not been turned in, police claimed that Rodela confessed to the crime.
An investigation by the State Commission for Sanitary Risk Prevention is currently checking the area food stands for any evidence of dog meat. It has not been confirmed whether Rodela sold the dog meat.
