Not too many well-known Latin artists have been to Tampa, Fla. lately. But get ready Tampa Bay; the world’s leading Spanish language rock artist is coming this summer.
The Colombian rock star Juanes brings his Loud & Unplugged Tour to downtown’s David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, June 30 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, Feb. 8 at noon, but Center Circle and Center Friends can purchase tickets already at strazcenter.org.
Juanes' overwhelming success entails six solo albums and multi-platinum sales of over 16 million copies. He’s been garnered with numerous awards - 19 Latin Grammy Awards, one Grammy Award, nine MTV Awards, and nine Premio Lo Nuestro (Our Awards) just to name a few - and has over 10 million social media fans. Other than his dedication to his music career, Juanes is also inspired with his charitable organizations as is his own Mi Sangre (My Blood) Foundation and Paz sin Fronteras (Peace without Borders).
Another of Juanes’ additional projects will be the launch of his first book on Tuesday, April 2 both in English and Spanish titled “Chasing the Sun” and “Persiguiendo el Sol” respectively. The books consist of a photo autobiography including never seen before photos.
Juanes' Loud & Unplugged Tour to visit seven additional cities and Canada will feature hits from his latest release “Juanes MTV Unplugged” and from his extensive music career.
