Juanes the only Latin with double honors at the Grammy Awards (Photos)

It was an honorable night for Latins at the 55th Grammy Award Sunday night especially for the Colombians.

It was Colombia’s turn to take double honors at the Grammys this year. Juanes dressed in a dark gray suit which is quite rare as he’s always casually dressed for award presentations but this year was an exception. He was awarded earlier at the pre-telecast for Best Latin Pop Album out beating his fellow compatriot Fonseca, Mexico's brother and sister duo Jesse y Joy, Guatemalan Ricardo Arjona, and Puerto Rican Kany Garcia. It is his second Grammy since 2008.

“Music has no language,” stated Juanes before his short performance towards the end of the awards show. He sang an Elton John classic adding a touch of Spanish before he presented the next performer Frank Ocean.

Arturo Sandoval was the winner in a non-Latin category for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album for his "Dear Diz (Every Day I Think of You)" album.

As for award presenters, the only two Latin singer presenters were Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull. The Puerto Rican-Bronx diva wore a black sexy gown exposing her entire right leg and left shoulder. She stated, "As you can see I got the memo." The Cuban-American Pitbull added, "You inspire the memo."

Another Latin moment was the mention of Jenni Rivera and Yomo Toro in the special tribute of all those deceased from the music industry. Another tribute was for Bob Marley with a great performance of Puerto Rican ancestry Bruno Mars accompanied by Sting, Damian Marley, Ziggy Marley and Rihanna.
