Juan de Marcos and the Afro-Cuban All Stars bring the heat to Seattle

Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley is doing its part to help warm up Seattle during these cold February nights. Starting Thursday, Juan de Marcos and the Afro-Cuban All Stars will take to the Jazz Alley stage during a four night stand that promises to bring the trademark sounds of Cuba to the Emerald City.

If you are at all familiar with the Oscar-nominated documentary “Buena Vista Club” then you’ve definitely been swept up by the fiery sounds of Juan de Marcos. De Marcos and his Afro-Cuban All Stars were on the scene in the late 90s when the Buena Vista Social Club sessions were recoded. Their contribution to this legendary period was the Grammy-nominated recording “A Toda Cuba le Gusta” as well as their performances throughout the documentary.

You can catch De Marcos and his Afro-Cuban All Stars Thrusday through Sunday night at Jazz Alley. For additional information on showtimes and to purchase tickets, please visit: www.jazzalley.com.
