JR Motorsports fills crew chief positions

NASCAR Nationwide Series team, JR Motorsports, announced on Thursday that Mike Bumgarner has been hired to serve as crew chief on the No. 5 team for drivers Kasey Kahne and Brad Sweet. As of now, the No. 5 team is expected to compete in 27 of the 33 races on the 2013 Nationwide Series schedule.

Bumgarner was most recently employed by Hendrick Motorsports. He was crew chief for the No. 5 Nationwide team, that was then a part of Hendrick Motorsports, in 2007. That year, with Kyle Busch as driver, the No. 5 team posted four wins, 14 top-fives and 15 top-10 finishes.

Bumgarner joins another former Hendrick Motorsports employee among the crew chief ranks at JRM -- Greg Ives. Ives was recently announced as the 2013 crew chief for JR Motorsports' No. 7 Nationwide Series team. The No. 7 is to be driven by Regan Smith for the full 2013 schedule.
