JoyRide Cycling Studio is a fitness boutique founded in Connecticut that offers classes that combine indoor cycling and elements of Pilates. San Antonio residents Becky and Joe Cerroni will open the first Texas location in August. It will be located at 1915 Broadway in the Mosaic Building.

These classes maximize cardiovascular benefits and burn calories and fat by giving riders an endorphin filled and challenging workout set to heart pounding music and led by expert instructors. Classes are 50 minutes long, full of energy, interval-based, where riders can burn between 600-800 calories and improve mental and physical fitness. Currently there are three locations in Fairfield County including Westport, Darien and Ridgefield. While Becky and Joe Cerroni were living in Westport they depended on JoyRide to get their early morning workouts and stay fit and healthy. When they moved to San Antonio last summer they looked for something similar in town. It was then that they decided to bring JoyRide to San Antonio.

JoyRide San Antonio will be a state-of-the art, 1,600-plus square foot indoor cycling studio with 36 of the newest bikes, a high-end sound system and ventilation with free parking, showers and locker rooms. Davis Sprinkle is a local architect responsible for the design of the Culinary Institute of America at the Pearl and other San Antonio landmarks and now he has designed this modern studio. The Cerronis have commissioned celebrated local artist Cruz Ortiz to design a mural in the lobby of the new studio as an homage to the vibrant San Antonio art scene.

There will be introductory classes to familiarize beginning cyclists with bike set-up as well as the basics of an indoor cycling class. The types of classes being offered will include early morning and evening classes as well as classes for teen and tween riders. JoyRide will partnering with local businesses to provide healthy food options for post-workout fuel and will also host indoor cycling fundraisers and training rides and organize teams to participate in fundraising events outside of the studio.

Classes will start at 6a.m. for early risers and commuters and will take place through 1p.m. Other classes will be available in the mid-afternoon for teens and tweens as well as in the evening. For more information including class descriptions and reservations visit JoyRide Texas online.
