Joyce Giraud was one of two new ladies to join the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for the currently airing season 4, but according to a new interview, Joyce didn't really know what she was getting herself into when she signed on to the series. In fact, she thought the show was scripted!
"I thought that reality shows were guided, and when I got there, I remember thinking, 'Okay, when are they gonna tell us what to do?'" Joyce recalled during a December 30 interview with OK! Magazine. "And I was just like, 'Hi, So what are we doing next?' And they're like, 'No, you just… whatever.' And I'm like, 'What do you mean, whatever?'"
While some story lines and dramatic moments may seem much to juicy to be true, the fact of the matter is that this show is simply a hit because of the combination of a number of different women's personalities colliding. Some times it is good, and sometimes it isn't, but it almost always makes for good TV.
"I'm an actress -- I'm used to, 'Gimme a script, let's memorize it, let's do it,' Or, gimme a direction -- tell me, 'You're sitting there, you're doing this,'" Joyce explained. "There is no guidance. I know a lot of people think it's fake and it's scripted - no! I can vouch firmly and say, what you see is what you get."
It sure is, and this season, fans have been getting plenty -- and most of it involves Joyce. Although she and Brandi Glanville seemed to have a few things in common during the first couple of episodes, they have been at each other's throats ever since and each week, their drama is heightened, so stay tuned!
