Bauer's second tip was for viewers to clean off the outside of their refrigerator. In other words, do not keep depressing things on the refrigerator's door such as notices for overdue bills or doctor's appointments, etc. Instead the nutritionist suggested you replace those pictures with inspirational things such as a picture of you when you were at your ideal weight. You might even put up inspirational quotations for you to read whenever you go to the refrigerator.
The next tip was one Harvey said he couldn't do. Bauer suggested turning the air conditioner down to 60-65 degrees so your body will have to work hard to keep warm. This will boast your metabolism and suppress your appetite.
The last tip Bauer gave was for viewers to open up their shades or curtains to let the sunshine in early in the morning. The chemicals in the brain will keep you from having the urge to eat throughout the day. Bauer mentioned that researchers have discovered that bright morning light is helpful for fast and effective weight loss.
The diet and nutritionist expert was referring to a new Northwestern Medicine study that reports the timing, intensity and duration of light exposure during the day is linked to your weight. People who had most of their daily exposure to even moderately bright light in the morning had a significantly lower body mass index (BMI) than those who had most of their light exposure later in the day, the study found.
