Journey to the Crown: Chelsea Davis

The City of San Bernardino is one of the poorest cities in the nation, not only that but there has been a lack of young, motivational leaders who want to change the community back around. However, this year there have been more dynamic young adults who are in the verge to take their city back, and one of them is Chelsea Davis.

Davis grew up in San Bernardino went away to obtain her Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon graduation in May 2013, she was one of the many graduates who decided to come back home, but she came back home with a purpose which makes her stand out from the rest.

She is currently attending the University of Southern California (USC) pursuing a Master's in Social Work. In addition, she has been selected to represent the City of San Bernardino in the upcoming Miss California USA State Pageant on January 11, 2015 in Long Beach, California.

"I would like to introduce myself to you as a community leader and give you some insight on who I am and why I should be invested in as a contestant," she states.

She continues:

"I aim to be the change in my community, and an example for our youth. I am currently working to implement a mentorship and community development program called Limitless Heights under Applied Principles for Service Non-Profit Organization in the city of San Bernardino. My objective in creating this program is to bring fourth positive change in the community through creative expression, socio-cultural development, community service and professionalism."

The reason why the CAU alum decided to compete in the competition is because of what Miss California USA represents. The organization was created to support and advance today's women who have proven to be "saavy, goal-orientated and aware." It also provides a foundation and network for humanistic individuals to grow in their purpose for change.

Davis' overall contributions would give her the opportunity to win not only this years title of Miss California USA 2015, but also a scholarship, a years contract with LA Models and several other awards. For more information on her campaign, please visit her website at or
