Journey to Florida extended for author and photographer Fran Reisner (Video)

On Feb. 7, 2013, it was announced that national award-winning photographer Fran Reisner would remain longer in Homosassa, Fla. as she works on her writing and photography. Her plan right now is to remain on her journey in the south until Feb. 15.

This famous photographer's photographs and writing captures memorable experiences in her journeys, and then some. That includes her closeness to nature and wildlife, horses, dogs and more.

In the fall of 2006 Reisner's journey began. It led her to Italy, and it was there where she captured the grace and beauty of the country in studies of light and shadow.

In addition, Reisner has had the pleasure of photographing working dogs for her new book, "The Mountain Dogs of Colorado" and "The Dogs of Central Park."

Journey In Focus gives a taste of this photographer's work. It is here where she blogs what has inspired her while traveling in her RV (recreational vehicle).

A number of these images can be found in Reisner's first book, "A Personal Renaissance." It is a limited edition, self published, coffee table book.

Some of Fran's other journeys in the United States have taken her to Texas, Colorado, Utah, California, Wyoming, New York and now Florida.

While in Florida, Fran is enjoying outside activities such as kayaking, meeting new friends and most of all, swimming with manatee. (see video).

Fran Reisner has been honored with her Photographic Master and Craftsman degrees, has won numerous national and international awards for her work, is a three time winner of the Dallas Photographer of the Year Award and was chosen by Canon as one of their elite “Explorers of Light.”

Reisner is also highly regarded and requested as an international speaker, has
been published in more than 30 books and magazines and has been featured on the television shows "Good Day Dallas" and "Good Morning Texas."

This author and photographer's journey continues throughout Florida during these winter months. Orlando, Cape Canaveral, Fort Myers and the Florida Keys are other destinations. Reisner's schedule is flexible now, so it is not known when or where she will be next.

When it is time to write another book, fans could think that this time Reisner's next book might highlight the sunny south!
