When the weather outside is cold, it is good to know that Omaha, Nebraska has many activities that may be enjoyed indoors.

One of those places is Joslyn Museum. It has been a staple in Omaha since 1931. It was built by donated funds from Sarah Joslyn, in memory of her husband, George. The art deco style marble building was built as a concert hall with art galleries surrounding. This was the vision of Mrs. Joslyn. (1851-1940) http://www.joslyn.org/

Today, it is a place to listen to music in the Witherspoon Music Hall, eat at small meal at Café Durham, view the permanent collections and the visiting exhibitions. The long viewing galleries give one the opportunity to sit and take in the paintings all around or to take a leisurely walk to each painting. Visitors can visit 19th century European Art, Medieval Art, as well as American Art and much more.

There are classes for children, teens and adults. The museum staff and board have worked to make art available for all and offer free Saturdays from 10-noon and discounted prices during Late ‘til 8 on Thursdays.
