Joss Whedon teases ‘death’ will happen in ‘The Avengers 2’

Not much is known about the upcoming sequel to “The Avengers,” other than the fact that Joss Whedon will return as director and all the actors from the first film are rumored to return as well. But, according to a Feb. 25 report from Screen Rant, Whedon guaranteed one thing is certain: Someone will die.

During a Q&A session at the European premiere of “Much Ado About Nothing” on Feb. 23, one reporter asked what his goals were for the unofficially titled “The Avengers 2.”

“When I actually considered doing ‘Avengers 2,’ my first question was, ‘What can I do that’s new?’ Whedon said. “Because I can’t make it bigger [audience laughs], but I can make it better, so that’s where I’m sort of going with that.”

When asked about his general philosophy toward the sequel, Whedon responded by lowering his voice and just saying, “death, death, and death.”
