As Hilda Gotay, Josie Ratley's mother, appeared on the Today Show this morning, Matt Lauer asked about Josie and her prognosis. Hilda feels confident that the outcome will be good. Her daughter is a remarkable young woman, according to her doctor.
It is difficult to understand how this incident escalated to the near death of a beautiful 15 year-old eighth grader that never even meet the perpetrator, Wayne Treacy. Text rage is being blamed for explosive behavior.
Hilda Gotay, said that Josie has been crying a lot since she is confused and doesn't understand why she is hospitalized. Josie Ratley has dreams of becoming an artist, however at this time she has limited mobility of her right arm.

I really feel for her, and she did not deserve such a brutal attack, but the news is not stating much about the text message. No one knows what is actually said, but allegedly it was an insulting remark about the suicide of Wayne Treacy's brother. Everyone seems scared to talk about it. Josie is still a victim, but is anyone surprised a teen who is insulted about a close relatives death snaps? Even adults can snap over something like that.
Text-Rage? Really? Do we really need to categorize what excuses people make to justify their unsocial acts of violence? Sure, 'Text-Rage" sounds a lot better than just 'rage'. May buy you a few years off a sentence. Make up words not to address the real issues and to dilute the truth. Something like the "Attack of 9-11" the "Shoe Bomber" Our government has shown us the way now the lawyers in court continue it.
This was a coward attack by a deranged 15-year old lunatic who now is making excuses for his brutal bahavior and the actions it has caused. Worst his parents are making excuses for him as well. Dare I say it? When your oldest son kills himself and your youngest goes on a murderous rampage maybe you should not be sitting on the Today Show, you should be at a shrinks office getting your head straightend.

Treacy's remorse makes no difference here, just like the details of the text message. Yes, 'TextMessage,' adults do snap. Exactly why we have prisons, death row....
Oh OK So what you are saying is if someone called your sister or brother(i dont know what you have) BLANK or even said the worst thing possible about them being dead or WHATEVER you would go kick that persons head in with steel toe boots???????Well if thats what you are saying then you need locked up in an institution!!!
