A lot can happen in a year. Just last year, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were upset when their new baby daughter, Josie, was born only 25-weeks-old. Michelle, of the TLC hit reality series “19 Kids and Counting,” had Josie via emergency C-section on December 10. Josie came into the world weighing only 1 lb., 6oz.
When Josie was born Michelle told People Magazine that she was so small that she didn’t think Josie could survive.
Josie, who weighs 15 lbs., 12oz., is now laughing, playing and even clapping as she celebrates her first birthday. "She's waving hello and goodbye," said Michelle. "She's saying da-da … Her outlook is so wonderful. It is a miracle."
Josie is doing really great, but she still has to be monitored and receive oxygen when she’s sleeping, according to People Magazine.
"We call her our little pajama girl because she has to wear a certain kind of snap pajamas for the monitor wires," Michelle said. "She is in 6-month-old clothes now, but we have some 9-month-old ones ready for her to grow into."
Just thinking about Josie’s growth over the year is enough for the Duggar family to celebrate.
"It is incredible. It is a wonderful day. And it is exciting to think of the future,” Michelle said.
