Joshua Hale Fialkov steps down from Green Lantern titles

Shocking rumors out of DC Comics quickly became fact when Joshua Hale Fialkov abruptly left both of the Green Lantern books that he was to begin writing shortly. Fans may remember that Fialkov had just been announced as the new writer for “Green Lantern Corps” and “Red Lanterns”, just two of the entire line of Green Lantern books that had recently received new creative teams.

The company has already put out a statement announcing the replacement writers for both books. According to the release, Van Jensen will be taking over “Green Lantern Corps” with co-plotting assistance from “Green Lantern” writer Robert Venditti while “Red Lanterns” will now be written by Charles Soule, the man tapped to replace Scott Snyder on “Swamp Thing”.

According to Bleeding Cool, Fialkov has chosen to walk off of his yet-to-be-released books due to issues with the editorial department. Such issues have been popping up more and more frequently at DC, particularly when it comes to editors interfering with the authors storylines once they have already been approved.

It is not yet known how many issues have already been completed by Joshua Hale Fialkov, yet alone how many may be published.
