Josh Marks of "Masterchef" fame was found dead on Oct. 11 in a Chicago alleyway. According to TMZ, Marks, 26, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head. Officials believe that said gunshot wound was self-inflicted. He was found by a passerby who called 911 on Friday night, screaming frantically.
Marks had a run-in with police at the University of Chicago back in July. He allegedly punched an officer and had to be taken down. The ordeal was very serious and Marks claimed that his outburst was because of Gordon Ramsay -- he said that he was possessed by the celebrity chef.
Josh Marks was a "Masterchef" finalist in season three. Since his time on the show he has stayed out of the spotlight somewhat -- but he did join forces with "Make a Sound" Project. In the video that Marks made for the campaign -- which helps people who have suicidal thoughts and suffer from depression -- he admitted that he was bi-polar.
It is unknown if Marks was dealing with any other inner demons but if he was bi-polar and was not properly medicated, he could have easily gotten depressed and perhaps he couldn't handle those feelings in a better way. Sadly, he wasn't able to get the help that he needed.
"Masterchef" Josh Marks will be greatly missed by those who loved and cared for him.
