Josh Malone Becomes 33rd Commitment for Tennessee

In front of family and friends at a packed house in the Station Camp Gymnasium, Josh Malone officially made his college choice known.

"I'm have decided to play my college ball at the University of Tennessee," Malone said.

"I had to go where I felt the most comfortable and that was at UT."

Malone (6-3, 195) chose the Volunteers over offers from finalists Clemson, Florida State, Georgia and Ohio State as well as 40 other offers.

Malone, the state's number two player in the state of Tennessee according to Rivals.com and 247sports.com.

He was also the No. 2 wide receiver in the nation according to Rivals as well.

He is the 33rd commitment in the Class of 2014 class for the Volunteers as they have a top three classes by each of the big recruiting websites.

Malone had a big senior season for the Bison as he caught 71 passes for 1,404 yards and scored 27 total touchdowns on the season.

He joins Jalen Hurd (Beech RB), Todd Kelly Jr. (Knoxville Webb DB), Derek Barnett (Brentwood Academy TE/DE), Rashaan Gaulden (Independence DB), Vic Wharton (Independence DB) and Aaron Medley (Marshall County K) as in state players committed to the Vols.

"Josh is a man of character and has the will to succeed," Station Camp head coach Shaun Hollinsworth said. "Josh is up for any challenge on or off the field. Everyone knows he can play football, but these are the things that will seperate seperate him from all the others."
