Josh Kaufman took home the top prize on Season 6 of NBC’s "The Voice" on Tuesday night for Team Usher. Kaufman, a teacher and a tutor by day, and a musician at heart, took a chance and embarked on the long journey to the top of "The Voice" pyramid. It all started with his audition singing George Michael’s “One More Try,” which ignited a four chair turn.
Kaufman chose Adam Levine as his coach, but was then eliminated in the Battle Rounds, singing his now hit Stevie Wonder cover, ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ against Delvin Choice. Usher stole Josh without even flinching, and coached the soul singer to victory. Kaufman was consistently high in the iTunes charts during the live shows, singing everything from John Legend’s "All of Me" to Pharrell’s "Happy." The finale included Josh singing Robin Thicke’s new single, "Get Her Back" right along side the ‘Blurred Lines‘ singer.
The top three, including Jake Worthington and Christina Grimmie, didn’t go home empty handed as all of them received a brand new Kia vehicle for all of their hard work on The Voice. Josh Kaufman receives a record deal with Universal Music group. It’s safe to say that Kaufman’s life has changed in a big way. We can’t wait for his record!
Kaufman performed early Wednesday morning on The Today Show. He tweeted, “About to perform on the @TODAYshow ! Signed, Sealed, Delivered! LA to NY overnight. #craziness” It didn’t take long for Josh Kaufman to receive some well deserved star treatment. Congratulations to Josh Kaufman and his coach, Usher!
