On Feb. 24, Examiner.com was invited to a very intimate celebration and viewing of the first episode of Season 3 of TNT's smash "Dallas" hosted by Josh Henderson at Hudson Common at the Hudson Hotel. Guests sipped on SVEDKA cocktails at the party.
Check out our exclusive interview with Josh below:
Q: So tell me about the celebration today?
Henderson: Well, tonight I'm celebrating the launch of season three, we premiere tonight. And I couldn't be more excited. This show's a big part of my life, obviously, and I'm very proud of it. Tonight should be a lot of fun.
Q: What can we expect on season three?
Henderson: Oh my God, a bunch of craziness. Tonight's like the set up episode for this whole season, it’s catching people up from the end of season two. It really starts off 12 hours later, but there are some new characters that are introduced. It's like the set up for what is an explosive season of the show. It's everything that people love about “Dallas” times a hundred. It's literally like “Dallas” on steroids.
Q: Tell me about some of the people we meet in this episode tonight?
Henderson: Well, AnnaLynne McCord, she's playing a new ranch-hand named Heather. So she's on the show this year with us. A guy named Juan Pablo, he is a mystery character right now that people find out very quickly who he is or who he isn't. He's another new guy to really watch out for just because he might bring trouble, he might not, but he's definitely not welcomed by the Ewing's for sure. But he's a great guy and a great actor so we're very, very lucky.
Q: Tell me, what is it like to be on location in Dallas?
Henderson: It is great! I was born in Dallas, so I get to come home and shoot this show and it's a blessing for me. I love the city of Dallas, I've got a lot of family and friends there, friends that I grew up with. So it's like being back home, shooting a show. Not only being at home, but shooting a show called “Dallas” which is nuts.
Q: And also so many legendary actors from the original show are back on the show again, can you tell me about working with them?
Henderson: Larry, Linda, and Patrick! You couldn't bring the show back without them. You can never try to redo “Dallas”...you couldn't try to have a new J.R., it's impossible. So the fact that they came back legitimized us to the fans and gave us a shot to bring this back to success and we did and it feels great.
Q: How do you stay in shape?
Henderson: Oh man it's tough because of our work schedule and I love to eat and I live in Texas half the year and everything is really good in Texas and it's all cooked in butter, just like I grew up on. I try to run as much as I can and stay in the gym because I have to it’s part of my job. I have my shirt off all the time, so it's one of those things where I gotta stick to it.
Q: Is there anything else you'd like to add about the new season?
Henderson: Well, just stay tuned. Each episode, the stakes get raised higher and higher. We're split up into two parts this year. The first eight episodes air, then there are two enormous cliff-hangers in eight and then we go on a couple of months hiatus and then nine through fifteen air, so they get all kinds of cliff-hangers this year, it's great.
“Dallas,” airs at 9 p.m. Mondays, starting Feb. 24, 2014, TNT
