Josh Gracin, an American Idol star, was said to have committed suicide on Thursday due to a note on Facebook, according to a Billboard Magazine article published on Friday. It is being reported on Friday, however, that Gracin is alive. After having seen a post on Facebook that a family member thought appeared to be a suicide note, police were called to Gracin’s Spring Hill, Tennessee home. The uncertain post reportedly took aim at blaming Gracin’s wife.
The post, allegedly written by Gracin, said that he loved her for 17 years. It also said that he made mistakes. He confessed that he admitted them, told her the truth and then she turned her back on him when he needed her help the most. He concluded his Facebook post by asserting that we wanted to be remembered as someone who gave his all in his music. The conclusion to the post was quite definitive, as he wrote, “Pray for my family as they carry on in the world without me.” Then he simply wrote, “Goodbye.”
The musician who became known during his stint as a finalist on Season 2 of “American Idol” – in which he came in fourth place - was intercepted as he was headed home, according to the Journal Star. Besides his wife, he has four children. Gracin, a 33-year-old singer and songwriter, originally came from Westland, Michigan. He has been active in the music business, as a guitarist in the country music genre as well, since 2003. He was also a member of the United States Marine Corps. He completed his time in the service after the “American Idol” experience on the Fox television network. His recorded music successes include “Nothin’ to Lose” which became a number one hit.
