Josh Duhamel's Relief Run 4 Japan: Huge success as thousands run in support

The skies were grey and the rain was relentless, but nothing could stop 4000 fans of Josh Duhamel and supporters of the American Red Cross from showing up on the Santa Monica beach, ready to do the two mile run to help support the tokidoki Relief Run 4 Japan.

Crowds gathered under tents where smartwater, coke zero, Oxylent, Powerade were gracious enough to provide refreshments for the runners. Pop Chips and Fat Burger were a huge hit with the runners (Fat Burger also kindly donated 100% of their proceeds to the American Red Cross.) Josh’s beautiful and talented wife Fergie, who had just celebrated her birthday in Vegas, was there to support her charitable husband.

Friends Paris and Nicky Hilton were on hand as well as Diana Aagron and Teresa Palmer. Josh even had the crowd sing Happy Birthday to Fergie with KROQ before the race started. Josh was decked out in his tokidoki T-shirt especially designed for the event, and online sales from the shirts alone has raised almost ninety thousand dollars. Josh looked great dressed in his PUMA running gear, who sponsored the run. They had also sent thousand of pairs of sneakers to Japan to the American Red Cross in Josh’s honor and to date have already donated and astounding 3.5 million dollars to Japan relief. Fergie looked amazing as usual dressed in her tokidoki clothing.

Josh told me, "4000 runners came out in the pouring rain today which tells me something, the Youth of LA set an example of just how powerful they can be when we come together to help when others are suffering."

I was there to participate in the wonderful event from the run’s inception and I have to say, it is also amazing to see what Josh Duhamel, the American Red Cross and the peakPRgroup can do in a week.

At time of writing this article, Josh and his runners had raised almost one hundred and thirty thousand dollars and counting, not bad for a cold and rainy morning in Santa Monica, although the sun did shine as the race began.... because that is how Josh rolls!
