Josh Brolin arrested for public intoxication: Third arrest a charm? (Photos)

Actor Josh Brolin rang in the new year with an arrest. Brolin was arrested for public intoxication on New Year’s Day in Santa Monica.

Son of actor James Brolin, he was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night, booked at 3 a.m. Wednesday morning and released a few hours later. Per Santa Monica Police Sergeant Richard Lewis, "This was a booking only to hold him until he sobered up. We do not normally file any charges on persons for simple intoxication. In this case no further action is being sought."

Brolin stars in the upcoming highly anticipated movie “Gangster Squad.” He plays a Los Angeles police sergeant trying to bring down the infamous mobster Mickey Cohen. The movie is set to hit theaters on January 11.

The actor’s arrest record is growing. In 2004 he was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge and in 2008 he was arrested after involvement in a bar fight. Charges were dropped in both cases.

So this makes Brolin’s third arrest with no charges pressed. His father is of Irish ancestry and it seems as though the luck of the Irish has been with Josh in all three arrests.
