Joseph-Gordon Levitt to play a lead role in 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For'

As reported by Deadline today, January 7, 2013, the extremely popular and talented young actor, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“50/50” “The Dark Knight Rises”) will make his next film appearance in the much-anticipated, “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For,” the Dimension Films sequel to the brilliantly artistic, noir drama, “Sin City” directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller based on Miller’s graphic novel.

Gordon-Levitt will play the role of Johnny, a part that the filmmakers originally offered to, and presumably named after Johnny Depp. He is one of the core characters in overlapping story lines that feature many returning cast members, including Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, and Rosario Dawson. The cast will also include the newcomers: Dennis Haysbert and Josh Brolin.

“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” has already begun shooting, and Gordon-Levitt will mix the filming into his schedule as he moves through an extremely busy month following his tremendously successful 2012. Furthermore, as reported earlier this week, Gordon-Levitt will be hosting the closing ceremony at the Sundance Film Festival where he will also be premiering his directorial debut, “Don Jon‘s Addiction.” Gordon-Levitt wrote the script and stars in the film with Scarlett Johansson.
