Joseph Gordon-Levitt might be up for a role in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'

Everyone’s favorite “up-and-coming” star, who has actually been doing really great work for a while, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“Looper”), is now in the running for the lead in James Gunn’s Marvel Comics’ adaptation “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Collider learned yesterday that he joins the likes of Jim Sturgess (“Cloud Atlas”) and Michael Rosenbaum (“Smallville”) in the running for the role of Peter Quill.

Peter Quell, aka Star-Lord, was born of a human mother and an alien father, and he’s a master strategist and combat expert in an ability enhancing suit.

While I think Gordon-Levitt is certainly the most talented of the three people officially named in the running I do think he lacks the physical presence needed to pull off the role.

Unless they intend to make it so he never takes his suit off I would have a hard time believing he would be capable of going against any other-worldly creatures.
