Marvel’s Phase 3 projects “Doctor Strange” and “Ant-Man” are in early development, so not a lot is known about them. However, on Tuesday, October 15, Latino Review revealed two possible contenders for the upcoming films.
According to the source, Marvel is looking to cast either Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Paul Rudd for “Ant-Man,” the lead role. “The Hollywood trade says they’re [JGL and Rudd] both frontrunners for the role,” the source reports. There is also a third candidate in mind but he has not been revealed yet. Production is said to be meeting with all three actors for a decision and final negotiations very soon.
I’m not liking Paul Rudd for the role; I just don’t see him pulling it off. But I’m all for Gordon-Levitt! The source adds that JGL is also a top contender for “Doctor Strange.” It seems like Marvel productions really want JGL to trade the DC Universe for Marvel - and I'm all for it.
Marvel’s “Ant-Man” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2015.
