After turning down offers for Guardians of the Galaxy and Godzilla, JGL has signed on to Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, which is the highly anticipated sequel from Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller. Levitt will play a new character named Johnny who is described as a cocky gambler that disguises a darker mission to destroy his worst enemy and will be one of the core characters in the film’s overlapping story-lines. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will be based off the second volume of Miller’s acclaimed Dark Horse crime series and the short story Just Another Saturday Night with new tales, including one called The Long, Bad Night. JGL will join returning cast members Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, along with new additions Dennis Haysbert and Jamie Chung. Filming is under way at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas.

It has also been reported Meloni will continue his comic book trend by officially joining the film as well. Deadline reports Meloni will be portraying a cop, but he’s going to be a lead rather than a supporting player.
