Joseph & Friends and Global Dance is hosting ALONG THE SILK ROAD: Angels for S.E.E.Ds on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Aqua Blue Restaurant and Bar. This fundraiser will feature a fashion show and dance performances to benefit Atlanta SEEDs (Self-Esteem, Empowerment and Education through Dance).
Atlanta SEEDs is a program for girls which focuses on mentoring young women through American Tribal Style Dance, talking circles, journal writing and presentations. This award winning SEEDs program has received the 2007 Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce Business of Excellence Award, the 2007 International Belly Dance Conference Award of Achievement in Middle Eastern Dance, a 2006 feature in Dance Magazine, plus many more.
The show will feature Middle Eastern and African performances by Leizel Lane of Global Dance, Dance Oriental and Daughters of Nefertiti and Atlanta SEEDs students. Myra Krein, founder of the SEEDs concept will be the Emcee of the night while participants enjoy fashions featuring Persephone Transformative Clothing.
Joseph & Friends, a full-service Aveda salon that has been in business in Atlanta for over 20 years is sponsoring ALONG THE SILK ROAD, and is known for having contributed to other worthy causes and fundraisers in the Atlanta area.
ALONG THE SILK ROAD is from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Admission is $25.00.
Children under 10 years of age are free.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite as well as at the door.
