As reported on ESPN Deportes, Napoli won with a lone goal against Roma in a hard fought battle for round 27 of Serie A. The lone goal was made by Spaniard Jose Maria Callejon in the 81th minute.

Napoli at home did not dominate the game as Roma controlled the ball 63 percent of the time and shot 14 times. Napoli only got 13 shots despite not able to control the pace of the game like Roma.

AS Roma and current leader Juventus FC, are on top of the Italian league with Roma trailing by 14 points. With the loss to Napoli today, the hopes of winning the Scudetto for 2014 became almost diminished.

As for SSC Napoli, they fought to get more points to possibly qualify directly to the UEFA Champions Cup next season and to possibly get one last push to win the Scudetto.

Winning the Scudetto for this year, of course, would require for Juventus to lose four or five games, while Roma and Napoli would have to be perfect. All this with 11 games left.

In the end, Jose Maria Callejon brought victory to the home crowd of SSC Napoli with a spectacular header against a very tough opponent like AS Roma.
