Most experts focus on the physical problems associated with obesity. But gaining weight can result in emotional pain, impacting every aspect of life. On his October 4 talk show, Steve Harvey and his expert guest Jorge Cruise focused on seeking solutions for an obese woman who feels that every aspect of her life has been adversely impacted by her weight.

Kerri weighs more than 200 pounds, and she told Steve and Jorge that she's desperate for help. People ask her if she's pregnant because she still wears maternity clothes. Unable to regain her pre-baby body, Kerri is trying to be excited about renewing her wedding vows in just five weeks.

Jorge explained that his "The 100" diet can make the difference. On his plan, Kerri can lose nine pounds in just one week by limiting her sugar calories to 100 a day. He explained that hidden sugar resides in many foods, and he will work with her to help her achieve her weight loss goal. You can learn all about his diet in his book: "The 100: Count ONLY Sugar Calories and Lose Up to 18 Lbs. in 2 Weeks" (click for details).

Among the highlights of his food plan: Snacks, generous portions of meals and even red wine, said Jorge. You can eat treats like muffins and coffee with real cream.

Sample recipes from Jorge:

Bell Pepper Eggs & Skinny Muffin (0 Sugar Calories)

Directions: Slice a green bell pepper into two, 1-inch thick slices. Put the pepper slices and two tomato slices in a pan over medium heat. Crack an egg into each pepper slice and cook. Flip tomato slices until they have reached desired doneness. Remove bell pepper eggs and tomato slices and season with salt and pepper. In a coffee mug, mix together 1/4 cup ground flax, 1 tsp. baking powder, 2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. coconut oil, 1 egg, and 1 packet Truvia. Microwave for 50 seconds and remove. Serve eggs, tomatoes, and muffin with coffee with a splash of half-and-half.

Shrimp Avocado Boats (0 Sugar Calories)

Directions: Slice 1 avocado in half, then in half again (save other half of avocado for another meal or snack). In a small bowl, mix together 10 cooked baby shrimp, 1 Tbsp. mayo, 1 tsp. lemon juice, and 1/2 tsp. chopped dill. Spoon shrimp into each avocado boat and serve.
