A motorcyclist was killed late Sunday afternoon when he collided with a vehicle at a high rate of speed on Ga. 85 in Clayton County.

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. at Ga. 85 and Webb Road near Jonesboro, according to Clayton County police.

Investigators said Mr. Jazzmin Deshawn Seay, 30, of Jonesboro, died at the scene of the wreck.

“During their investigation, officers learned that a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed struck a vehicle that was stopped at a traffic light,” police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Hughes said.

It’s unclear how fast the motorcyclist was traveling and police have not said whether or not he was wearing a helmet.

Police have not released the names of the occupants who were inside the vehicle, but said none of them were injured, Sgt. Hughes said.

It’s unclear what, if any, charges will be filed against the driver.

The investigation is ongoing.
