Jones, Sanders make the cut for 'Madden NFL 25' cover vote

It’s that time of the year again where fans of the “Madden NFL” franchise decide on who will grace the cover of the popular football video game released in August.

EA Sports and ESPN announced the 64 players and brackets that will compete in the “Madden NFL 25” Cover Vote on Monday and two Falcons players made the cut.

The bracket is split into two parts, old school and new school. Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones made the new school bracket while cornerback Deion Sanders made the old school bracket.

For the first round of voting Jones faces Saints tight end Jimmy Graham while Sanders goes up against Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy.

Jones has emerged as one of the premier receivers in the NFL today. He had 79 receptions for 1,198 yards and 10 touchdowns last season and led the Falcons to the NFC Championship.

Sanders, who was recently inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, is considered by many as the best cornerback to ever play the game. He played for the Falcons from 1989-1993 and was a three-time pro bowler during that span. Sanders then went on to play for the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens. He went on to win two Super Bowls and AP Defensive Player of the Year in 1994.

Round 1 voting begins now and will end March 20. Voting will continue until a winner is announced on April 24. “Madden NFL 25” marks the 25th anniversary of the “Madden NFL” series and will hit shelves August 27.
