Two reputable dog food "watchdogs" - Susan Thixton and Dog Food Advisor, have reported today that they have discovered that on March 6, 2013 Jones Natural Chews Company, based in Illinois - is recalling 245 boxes of its "Woofers" beef patties due to possible Salmonella contamination. No one is certain why this information has taken 6 days to reach consumers! This voluntary recall is not listed on the FDA's web pages, so for concerned consumers, here is what is being recalled.
Jones Natural Chews Woofers beef patties that were shipped to distributors and retailers between November 1, 2012 and November 12, 2012 in the following states - Arizona, California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin:

Salmonella contamination can affect both humans and animals, please remember to wash your hands after handling items that may be affected.
