After a full week of fashion from established and emerging New England designers Styleweek Northeast closed out with a runway show by “Project Runway” alum Jonathan Joseph Peters. The collection, called “Delirium,” was a collaborative effort between fashion designer Jonathan Joseph Peters and visual artist Phil Shaw.

Peters, who is also creative director for Styleweek Northeast, is known for his theatrical runway shows that are almost as much about performance art as they are about the clothing. His partnership with Phil Shaw continued this tradition of mixing visual art, music, and storytelling with fashion.

Shaw, who has a B.F.A in Visual Arts and Graphic Design Communications, helped design the shoes that were shown in the Delirium collection, the music for the show, and created digital prints that were then turned into fabrics used by Peters to create his looks. The Delirium collection was an intoxicating mix of styles, textures, colors and shapes. The looks shown on the runway had everything from clean lines paired with filigree elements to modern styles mixed with vintage inspired silhouettes.

Originally hailing from nearby Woonsocket, Rhode Island Jonathan Joseph Peters first reached a national audience while appearing as one of the fashion designers on season seven of the award winning reality television fashion competition “Project Runway”. In past years several other “Project Runway” alumni, including Peach Carr and Ben Chmura, have joined Peters on the Styleweek stage. Along with Fashion Week El Paseo, which is held on the west coast, Styleweek Northeast is considered one of the best spots for fans to see the latest collections from their favorite “Project Runway” designers from seasons past.

This week long fashion event features designers from across New England and the country. Jonathan Joseph Peters shared the runway closing night with Nick Pini and Sarah Prost’s Yellow Clover fashion line. Peters’ show was sponsored by Redken. Jonathan Joseph Peters is currently offering several limited edition Phil Shaw Delirium prints for sale here on his website along with his own original designs.
