July 25, 2014-July 27, 2014, Jackson Park Golf Course is the site of the 110th Chicago City Amateur golf tournament. Jackson Park Golf Course is a Chicago Park District course. This is an 18 holes course at 6401 S. Richards Drive.

The scoring format is stroke play, which entrants will play on July 25-July 27. (The practice round was on July 24.) July 11 was the deadline for registering.

As of Saturday, July 26, 5:50 p.m., CDT, Jon Zolecki was leading the field with a score of 129. Zolecki scored 66 on his first round and 63 on his second round. (Please note that at 5:50 p.m., 14 players were still golfing.)

Also as of 5:50 p.m. on this Saturday, these were the names and scores of the other, 11 closest competitors: Steven Kois-132 (66,66), Michael Natale-132 (67, 65), Bryan Rusin-133 (65, 68), James Henderson-134 (65, 69), Cully Johnston-139 (71, 68), Michael Fastert-139 (70, 69), Bob Bruce-143 (72, 71), Kyle Donovan-145 (78, 67), Tim Eye-146 (72, 74), Jack Haberkorn-147 (71, 76) and Sean Hutchinson-147 (72, 75). One hundred nine golfers registered for this tournament. Six entrants did not show to play any rounds.

Saturday’s contestants endured humid weather and overcast skies. Temperatures were 75°-80°. Occasional breezes from Lake Michigan provided some relief.

Jackson Park Golf Course was in excellent condition. Standing water was nonexistent except for the pond on the eighth and 11th holes which qualifies as water hazards. Sand bunkers were smooth, lacking any gouges or footprints. Maintenance personnel clearly marked out-of-bounds areas, obstructions and the water hazard with the appropriate colors.

It is very likely that all contestants played from the Blue teeing grounds. This means that the course rating/slope was 65.7/109 for men and 70.4/113 for women. The average, total yardage from the Blue teeing ground is 5,508 yards. Total par is 70.
