Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, is an animal lover and proud owner of two pit bulls, Shamsky, who is named after Major League Baseball legend, Art Shamsky and Monkey. Shamsky and Monkey live in downtown Manhattan with Jon, his wife, Tracey, and their two kids.
Jon stood up for the breed when Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, during the 2008 election, commented about hockey moms and pit bulls, Jon Stewart took to his show for his own spin on the difference between a soccer mom and a piit bull. Jon's response was "One is unfairly maligned in spite of evidence that it is no worse than any other dog, and one is an artificial demographic that is no better or worse than any other mom."
Jon Stewart will be playing at the Palace Theatre on April 29, 2011 at 7:30pm.
