It's the end of a Gosselin era and the beginning of a new one. The wildlly succesful TLC series, Jon & Kate Plus 8 will air its final show Monday night.
During the final hour to air at 9 p.m. EST, Jon and Kate Gosselin will take the kids on separate outings. Jon will take the eight kids to a local fire station and Kate and the kids will visit a nearby dairy farm. Both parents, now going through divorce proceedings, will offer their reflections on the past and the future.
In September, a revamped series without Jon was announced, to be titled Kate Plus Eight and to feature Kate as a single mom handling twins and sextuplets.
However, the plan was railroaded after Jon objected to any more filming of his kids. Filming of the Gosselin children have been halted for weeks.
TLC has confirmed, though, that a new series featuring Kate will air in Spring 2010. "'Kate Plus Eight' is not in production," TLC spokeswoman Laurie Goldberg said Thursday. "We are focusing on the launch of Kate's new series in early spring."
Meanwhile, the Gosselin drama continues to play out in the press. TLC recently filed suit against Jon for breach of contract. Jon responded with a countersuit claiming TLC violated child labor laws.

I will be looking forward to watching "Kate plus eight" as a single mother. I like to see that there is an organized mother who loves her children and who has demonstrated herself to be a very responsible parent. She did her best and she has the welfare of her children first. Regardless of what anyone says about filming the children, it was always in good taste and Kate needs to support her eight children the best way she knows how. Lots of good things come with hard work and Kate has proven that she is serious in providing for her family.
There are eight children's future at stake especially education, health insurance, nourishment and housing and that takes money.

How about a money grubbing ball buster who worships the almighty dollar above all else putting her kids secondary. All children's future's are at stake. Not just Kate Gosselin's. My parents raised 8 children in a house 1/10 the size of what she thinks her kids "deserve." What Kate really needs is a big fat reality check but it seems reality is exactly what she left behind the day she signed on for the big bucks. Good luck Mrs Gosselin....you'll need it!
None of us know the inner details of what is going on in Kate and Jon's lives, regardless of whether we watch them on TV every week or not. I too believe that Kate is just trying to provide for her children. The claim that the filming is now hurting the children is laughable.... Jon is only saying this because he will no longer be included. Everyone (the public) is backing the statements that it is harmful, but what about the other families on TLC (the Duggars, Table for 12, etc.) no one is saying that filming is harmful for their children... what is the difference?
Hey, for anyone against Kate making money doing a show, regardless if it involves the kids or not, you'd do the same thing if you had 8 kids to raise. Don't lie and say you'd rather work as a nurse and barely get by.

I wonder why TLC thinks that America wants to watch Kate. The show was only watched because of her children. Kate is a nobody without her children she has no talent other then to have invetro and have kids. I had to turn the channel tonight on the season finale. I just couldn't listen to Kate another minute. She is so bizzar. I would like TLC to give Joh equal time and have a show called Jon's story. Tonight Kate said she would like Jon to still be in the drivers seat. He has never been in the drivers seat. I think Kate has always been in the drivers seat. At the end of last season she said "she still wanted to have the show and Jon didn't" Wow the next move was a divorce. Kate purchased a home down the street from her body gaurd. Hello? Kate is doing the best she can with the situation she is in. I used to feel for Jon when I used to watch the show before the separation. She was quite harsh on him, however, since the separation I find Jon to be self-centered, and really just soaking up the paparazzi. Kate seems to concerned for the kids and Jon for himself. That being said I wish the best for both in the future and I hope the kids have a happy healthy beautiful life. God bless from Canada...
I love the show and hated to see it end and i was looking forward to kate plus 8 but i guess jon has runined that along with everything eles he has runined that man gets on my nerves with everything kate has to pay for and to see that the kids are looked out for thats take more money than jon thinks well kate god bless you and ur children keep ur head up high and take it one day at a time u will get though this and come out alot stronger than u were going in to it I hope everything works out and the new show thats coming in spring 2010 am looking forward to it.

Kate is sooo very fake - saying she just cares for her children and everything she does is for her children. She does it for the camera. Kate is a perfectionist. My father was one. As hard as they are on others, and they are hard to live with, they are harder on themselves. Kate does everything with those children firmly in her heart and her mind. I hope she realises that those twins see, read and hear everything. The are "Tweens" Something Jon did not understand. I won't watch it and I hope she falls flat on her face. What is so special about Kate? So she had six children at what time. So what!!!!! My grandfather a and other relatives gave up their lungs in the mines, and they were never crackers.... The Gosslins and from centeral PA and not from western PA and you should find a different insult because you only show your lack of knowledge calling the coal crackers.
