Jon Gruden has been away from the NFL sidelines and in the broadcasting booth for quite some time now, but that may not last much longer. On Dec. 21, 2013, UPI reported that Gruden could return to the sidelines and believes he'll end up back with the Oakland Raiders. Other reports believe that Gruden could take to the college ranks and coach the University of Texas.
Former NFL MVP Rich Gannon said that from conversations he has had with Jon Gruden in the past, it seems like he'll be back on the sidelines.
"I've had conversations with Jon in the past. I don't think it's outside the realm of possibilities," Gannon said of Gruden's possible return to the Raiders to 95.7, The Game.
Gannon wouldn't say anything further though and said nothing is set in stone.
Ever since Mack Brown decided to "step down" from his head coaching position at the University of Texas; there have been numerous names thrown around to replace him. Now, rumors have it being that of Gruden.
Orangebloods.com reports that Gruden is "open to hearing" about one of the premiere college head coaching jobs in the country. Word is that he would seriously consider it.
Gruden currently has a contract that runs through 2014 with ESPN and he has long said that he's going honor that deal before doing anything else.
