This collage football season the "Because We Can" hitmaker's son earned his spot on the Fighting Irish team as a walk on, with his famous father Jon Bon Jovi showing his full support the entire time.
Jesse Bongiovi is an 18-year-old freshman, who stands at 5-foot-9 and weighs 183 pounds. Jesse had much success throughout his high school football career as a two-time letter winner at Brooklyn's Poly Prep High School.
Bongiovi made the Irish as a cornerback and is rocking the No. 34 jersey this season.
"Jesse has earned his spot on the 105[-man roster]," Notre Dame's head coach, Brian Kelly, said in early August. "He's a tough kid. The kids really like him. They respect him. They don't look at him as a rock star's son. They look at him as a kid that loves Notre Dame and wants to play football and help this team."
The Fighting Irish kicked off their season opener last Saturday, beating Temple University and football fans not only got to see a great game, but spotted the famous rocker Jon Bon Jovi in the mix smiling proudly and cheering on the Notre Dame football team.
Jesse Bongiovi is not getting any special treatment on the team because of his father, in fact Jesse didn't get a chance to take the field at all in the first game, which was probably a little heartbreaking for Jon Bon Jovi, as a father and a huge football fan.
Of course not getting in the first game will most likely push Jon Bon Jovi's son, Jesse to work even harder this week to prove to the coach he is ready to go, and hopefully Jon Bon Jovi can make it to the game before he heads back out out on the road with the band for the next leg of his number one selling tour.
Bon Jovi is scheduled to hit Mexico on September 10 to continue on with the "Because We Can" tour. Bon Jovi will continue touring throughout 2013 until just before Christmas.
As for Jon Bon Jovi's son Jesse Bongiovi he and his teammates will be facing Michigan this Saturday.
Good luck Jesse Bongiovi!
