Former "Jon and Kate Plus 8" star Kate Gosselin has faced a number of problems over the course of the past year in between a public divorce from Jon, nasty tabloid headlines, and even some rumors that she was having an affair with her bodyguard. Ironically, though, what could end up hurting her the most on "Dancing With the Stars" is the same thing that made her famous -- a show on TLC.
Without "Jon and Kate Plus 8," how would we ever know that Kate has a temper? It was because of that broadcast that many rumors started to spread, and that people started to scrutinize her every move. The famous video of her supposedly denying daughter Mady water? That happened as a result of people claiming she was too hard on her children. Her failed relationship with Jon? Many believed it was a result of her not "pulling the stick out" -- a line that was famously said by Jon during the series' early run.
With only a week and a day left until Kate's "Dancing" debut, we really have to wonder if the reality TV mom will be able to bring in enough people who aren't already fans. While some competitors this season (like skater Evan Lysacek) don't necessarily have has many fans, they also have more people capable of being won over in a short period of time. Kate has a history, and that can occasional mean trouble (look at Tom DeLay from last season.

Forget it Kate. I will never forget you on your show and the way you treated JOn. Too good for unmatching cribs..... Things like that. Watch some of the multiple shows on now. They are making do with whatever they have and they have babies everywhere. You always wanted too much. You still do. You will keep me voting anyway....voting against you.

Personally, I think, Kate is her own worse enemy. Just about everyone who watched their show thought Kate was a shrew. I think there are many ex-fans of theirs. More ex-fans than still fans.
Without Jon and Kate plus 8, not only would we not know Kate has a temper. We would not know who she is. Maybe, that is how it should have been.
