On the latest two new, back-to-back episodes of “Jon and Kate Plus 8” the Gosselin "family" has undertaken the project of having their kitchen remodeled, Kate Gosselin took the eight children to Bald Head Island, NC for two weeks and Kate takes the kids camping on her own for the first time in the backyard.
Both shows did have some of the old Jon and Kate banter, when Kate asked Jon, “What planet are you from?” and Jon stated to the cameras, “look Kate we are laying down cardboard so the floors won’t be ruined,” but for the most part it was mainly about the kids. While Jon was back in their Wernersville, Pa home “supervising” the remodel of their kitchen, Kate took the kids to Bald Head Island, NC for two weeks.
The kids especially Maddy and Cara were seemingly very happy and had a great time playing in the water and pool. Kate did acknowledge the paparazzi following them on there trip by stating, “Within two-and-a-half days, we had three to five paparazzi snapping pictures… I’m not going to keep my kids inside and stifle their existence.”
The second episode from what Kate stated “the first time she had all of the kids on her own,” the episode was entirely Jon-less, however there were comments made by some of the kids about their father as to his abilities setting up tents and building fires. Kate did in the end manage to pull a camp-out in the backyard off (with a little help from Ashley, Kate’s friend Carla’s daughter and one of the production crew members). This episode also contained a bit of Kate reprisal, as she announced, “It’s not the kids' fault what transpired has transpired,” and noting her new single mom reputation by asserting, “I put a screen in a window for the first time in my life.”
In one of the last scenes of the camping episode Kate stated sadly, "Since I've once again in my life lost the ability to plan ahead and to see the future, I have gone back to my taking it one day at a time, sometimes one hour, and sometimes even a minute, at a time.”

I love the camping episode Kate did such a great job with the kids and I think she was so much more calm w/o Jon there she is doing such a great job with the kids showing them mommy can do things on her own, sure she needs a little help but it's was very dangerous with the fire and I think that's being smart with eight kids having a little help!!! Go Kate Go!
Kate just does not get it. She complains about things in the kitchen she just does not understand what they are, of course, coming from where she comes from it's understandable. This is why she has lost John. She comes from nowhere, get's to have money and now thinks she is out of this world. Come on, get with it Kate. Sorry TLC, one less viewed. From terrible wife, to bad mother, to know it all, just can't take Kate any more. She really deservies what she got.

I agree with Judy! And I think Jon got a little fame and figured out some women thought he was good looking and enjoyed the attention leading him to cheat. I wouldn't stay with a cheater either!
All you have to do is look at the kids, they are so happy, so well behaved they play well together - obviously J & K have done something right and I think it's more Kate doing the right thing than Jon. Yes Kate can be overbearing - who wouldn't be if you had 8 kids and a ridiculously passive husband. It's interesting how Jon didn't like the limelight and now all you see is him globe-trotting and talking to the paps. It's also good to know there isn't a lack of dimwitted women who would gladly take up with a man who walked out on his responsibility of being a husband and full-time father - yep quite a catch there!!
